it was not my car, so I treated it with great disrespect
oh, what’s this I have?
nothing... because the owner doesn’t have the cool key, his is the default boring everyday subaru key
but, his key does fit this!
I wasn’t a fan of this front end design when it came out, but it’s grown on me since. it’s now my second favourite GD Impreza front end (obviously the bugeye is the winner)
yes, it’s the fancy kind!
under the hood confirms the goods!
it was destined to be! we match today!!!
DAMN! she can scoot!!!
It has a few mild mods, although some of them were out at the moment so it could pass emissions. Regardless, it was still a hoot. Power on demand, and turbo noises. Such a toy.

Not if it’s intended . Thought the OEM redline was 7000.

can get blanks on ebay. I’m pretty sure subaru key blanks work for a number of other japanese cars too.
there are some really nice custom keys in Japan. I always liike the R34 GTR’s key. nice and simple

As a STI owner the truth of these meme makes me uncomfortable. BRB going to recheck oil.

Its odd seeing it WITH the wing since I am so used to seeing my own car without it.
But yeah Hawkeye is definitely my favorite front end !
Lovely car though, I will continue to fend off the urge to mod it and keep it as stock as possible. It needs more sound but I definitely dont want it to become an unreliable tuner car. I figure a catback would probably be perfect but its certainly a slippery slope to intakes, blow off valves, and all sorts of stupid stuff until you end up here:

That is a gnarly windshield crack. And I thought my small crack on the passenger side (which I filled with a kit) was pretty bad.

I have a 2013 Outback, I check my oil every 1,000 miles.

I read the ringland failure thread on NASIOC every time I think about going Stage 2. It helps manage the urge to compromise my warranty on an EJ.

Yeah I hope to just have no problems by staying stock. I definitely don't need more power, especially for street driving. It's already like the perfect amount. I'd consider doing things like an oil catch can and intercooler upgrades for reliability purposes though. And I do need shocks and eventually a clutch and someday a turbo probably. No point in putting stock parts whenever the times come.

Can’t crack ring lands if you’ve got apex seals.
